Frequently Asked Questions
We've pulled together answers to the things we get asked most, from how our vintage pieces are sourced and restored, to shipping and care.

Do you source goods for people?
Yes we do! Please fill out our Bespoke Sourcing form with your specific requirements and time frames and we’ll get in touch. You can also email us on info@blueticking.co.uk with any questions.
Is it possible to visit your studio/workshop?
Yes we would love you to visit our studio in Rudgwick, West Sussex. We do ask that you to contact us before a visit to ensure someone is here because we’re often out and about sourcing new stock. To arrange a visit please email or call on 01403 288053.
Onsite there is also the brilliant Firebird Brewery and The Milkchurn Café so you could make a morning/afternoon of it.
What paint do you use on your goods?
We use Farrow & Ball paints. We love their colour range and the coverage and finish is excellent. The paints are water based and kind to the environment. We have lots of colours to choose from so we hope there is something for everyone.
What Farrow & Ball colours do you stock?
We have an ever-evolving range which is updated when new colours appear or we want to bring back old favourites. If you would like to use a colour not listed we can do that!

Can goods be customised?
Yes, absolutely. We often customise desks or chairs by painting the legs, hinges or adding a chalkboard lid. Simply get in touch to discuss options. There will be an extra cost for this service and the turnaround time will be a little longer.
Are you able to store items if we can’t take delivery immediately?
We understand that people can’t always take delivery straight away due to holidays, a house move or renovations. We are happy to store goods for up to a month. If you think you need longer please do let us know, we will always try to accommodate.
Can I spread the cost of paying for goods
Yes, Paypal later is available at checkout and this enables you to spread the cost in three monthly payments.
Do you make your own furniture?
Yes! John is a carpenter by trade so makes quite a few Blue Ticking pieces like The Edith and birch ply shoe storage benches and display shelves.
We also take on commissions so if you have an idea and would like us to bring it to life please fill in our commissions enquiry form. We have made lots of goods for customers, for example bookcases, shoe racks and wall cabinets.
Do you hire out goods for use as props for photo shoots or for the press?
Absolutely, as long as you promise to look after them! Please email us on info@blueticking.co.uk or use our contact form for more information.
As well as sourcing goods for people do you buy goods off individuals or companies wanting to sell furniture?
Yes! We would love to hear from any individuals, house clearance companies or schools who are looking to donate or sell items that you think we’d be interested in. Please drop us an email on info@blueticking.co.uk or use our contact form with details.
