Three of the best Blue Ticking customers!

I say it a lot, but I think we have the best customers! It makes me so happy when people put their faith in us and come back to buy time and time again. I hope it means we are doing something right!

To celebrate all the amazing people who buy from us, we thought we would interview three amazing customers so they can share some of their purchases and explain why they keep coming back!

Emma Anderson

Emma lives in Scotland and is just a total joy to chat to about Blue Ticking pieces and what might work for her home. It's always lovely when she pops into my DMs to enquire about a recent find!

How did you hear about Blue Ticking?

The lovely Gemma of @Mutha.hood fame shared amazing desks she got from you for the reds. I just love the uniqueness and bringing something preowned to new life with a new family.

What Blue Ticking items do you have?

I've gathered a little collection of gorgeousness! So far a red Conran lamp, two stunning kanthas (have my eye on another one too), a red Maggie with blue ticking top which is perfect for the garden shoes and little seat and finally a big blue Maggie in the hall with all of our gloves and hats inside.

Out of all your purchases which one is your favourite?

The red Maggie. It's just a lovely pop of colour and so useful. My sons each want one for their new rooms we are currently creating for them.

If you fancy your own Maggie head to our Maggie page online to see what we have available.

What do you love about Blue ticking?

It's a family business with a very personal service. I like buying small and circular economy recycling.

Is there anything else you have your eye on?

Apart from the kanthas and new Maggies for the boys, I love some of the larger workshop pieces. Also, the little red hooks would be a perfect addition to our utility.

When buying furniture and pieces for your home, what's important to you?

Preloved, sustainable, buying small. I hate waste. We have an old house, I feel like brand new furniture just doesn't look right in it.

Why would you recommend Blue Ticking to others?

Yes, over and over again. Never disappointed by the products or the people.

Angela Cronin

Angela has been a loyal customer for a good few years now and I know storage is key for her so it's always great to be able to help with that in her lovely London home.

How did you hear about Blue Ticking?

I stumbled across Blue Ticking via Instagram. I love interiors so it may well have been a connection but I'm not sure!!

What Blue Ticking items do you have?

A few of the pictures from India, Child's desk, scissor lamp, hallway crates, bedside table, Maggies, printer's tray for small treasure, cabinet for bathroom (yet to be used!) lolli-pop crates in the kitchen. I think there will be a little bit of Blue Ticking in every room at this point.

Out of all of your purchases which one is your favourite?

That's a tough one! The Maggies, Hallway Crates and scissor lamp!

angela-cronin-3

Which item has proved most useful and why?

The Maggie's' and crates! Great practical storage solution that can also be used as seats! I bought a ply top for a Maggie I have so I can use as a side table too.

(We have quite a few of these metal crates with birch tops online should you fancy one for your home!)

What do you love about Blue Ticking?

Original pieces that can be painted/decorated at your request.

Is there anything else you have your eye on?

Oh my! Always! I need to unfollow the page at this point 😉 but I'm still haunted by the bits I've missed. I never forget the mini blackboard….

When buying furniture and pieces for your home, what's important to you?

Dual purpose pieces are great investments as well as anything that has a lid. Things that can hide the mess essentially!

Would you recommend Blue Ticking to others?

100%

Anna Mae Morton

Anna-Mae lives in Devon and some of our larger pieces have made their way into her home. My favourite has to be the wooden shop fitting which now resides in her fab new kitchen. I get a real buzz when amazing pieces like this can help transform a space.

How did you hear about Blue Ticking?

I think I found you through an interiors account I followed on Instagram

What Blue Ticking items do you have?

Alot! A gorgeous orange Herbert Terry lamp, a red Maggie, a desk, a shelved unit in our kitchen, a medicine cupboard in our downstairs toilet, a triple tambour cabinet in our dining/living area and a drawer unit as my partners bedside table.

Out of all your purchases which one is your favourite?

Ah this is such a hard question as I genuinely love them all and everyone who visits always picks out a blue ticking piece as being a fab addition to our home. Orange is my favourite colour so I'd probably say the lamp in my sewing room.

(Fancy a desk lamp to transform your space? Do make sure you check out our lighting section online.)

Which item has proved most useful and why?

The shelved unit in our kitchen is definitely the most useful. It does end up being a dumping ground as you enter and leave the house but it works hard; storing pots, pans, shoes, paperwork, keys, phones – and it is stunning! Our kitchen was actually built around the unit as I bought it November 2021 but our kitchen wasn't fitted until July 2022 so if you ask the builders – it wouldn't be their favourite item 😃 but once they saw it in its final destination they had to admit it was a gem 😊

What do you love about Blue Ticking?

I love how unique the pieces are and how sympathetically John and Helen restore them. Helen is also just so lovely to deal with. I feel bad as I often reply to an Instagram story about an item about 10pm in the evening when I'm sure she wants to switch off but she always gets back to me.

Is there anything else you have your eye on?

We are still after a piece of furniture to work as an island for our kitchen so I'm keeping my eyes peeled to see if John and Helen find anything suitable.

When buying furniture and pieces for your home, what's important to you?

Individuality is important to me and also a rustic/old feel to the piece. I like the thought that it has lived a life elsewhere.

Why would you recommend Blue Ticking to others?

You will find pieces that are beautiful, functional and unique. And deal with the most friendly, helpful people in the process 😊

A huge thanks to Emma, Angela and Anna-Mae for answering our questions. Many of the goods they talk about (or similar ones) can be found online so if you like the sound of anything they mention do have a look on our website or send us an email with any questions or sourcing requirements.
